B.Psych (Registered Psychologist)
As a Psychologist, I fundamentally believe in the uniqueness of each individual's journey. In our work together, I adopt a collaborative approach, tailoring therapy to best match your needs and circumstances. My therapeutic approach draws heavily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which I find personally enriching as well. ACT promotes psychological flexibility, empowering us to live fully in the present, engage in values-based actions, and develop a compassionate relationship with ourselves.
Where appropriate, I utilise Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Narrative Therapy approaches to offer a more in-depth exploration of unconscious patterns and past experiences that might be influencing your present situation. This combined approach helps in providing a comprehensive understanding and addressing the whole spectrum of your experience.
At the heart of my work is the concept of values and the potential for growth. In addition to treatment of mental health diagnoses, therapy can be an empowering journey of self-discovery and transformation. I am committed to fostering an environment where you can cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth. I work with a diverse range of clients and have particular experience with adolescents, young adults and adults. Some of the common presentations that I work with include anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem issues, and life transitions.
