Rebates for Medicare and Private Health Cover can be processed on the day via Hicaps.
You do not need a referral unless you would like to claim the Medicare rebate. If you are intending to claim the Medicare rebate, you will require a referral and mental health care plan from your GP. You can claim the rebate for the first 10 sessions per year.
Most private health providers cover psychological services conducted by a Registered Psychologist. As claiming differs between providers – please contact your private health company regarding your individual entitlements.
